Here are 5 simple tips that will tremendously improve the quality of your backlinks

1) Anchor text - these are the words used to link to the destination website or webpage. If you are working to get your site to rank for the keywords “seo tools”, this is the keyword phrase/ anchor text that you always should use when creating a link to your site. Right? Wrong! You should rotate 3 to 4 different keywords phrases when backlinking. In this example, use “seo tools” roughly 60% of the time and 2 to 3 different anchor text phrases 40% of the time. These percentages are up fro debate, but do not use your target keywords 100% of the time or you will notice your site randomly disappearing from Google’s search results.

2) Contextual backlinks - this is also called in content text links. This is when the anchor text is placed within content as opposed to at the very beginning or end of the content. The anchor text needs to appear natural and flow within structure of the content/ sentence.

3) Deep links - this is the process of linking to inner pages within your website. When creating a successful backlink campaign, don’t overlook the importance of creating links to pages of your site other then the home page. You will be amazed at the results you will get by implementing this simple technique into your campaign.

4) Diversify your links - This is very important. Diversify the sites in which your inbound links are coming come as well at the frequency in which the links are created. Do not have all of your link come from the same domain or IP range. Also do not create the same number of links everyday; create 8 backlinks today then 2 the next, then skip 1 day, etc.

5) Backlink to your backlinks - with the recent change in Google’s algorithm (Google Panda) the quality of backlinks is more important then ever. The Not So Obvious Answer

Recently I was privy to a very interesting discussion.  It actually inspired me to write this post.  Let me start by asking you the same simple – yet potentially complex – question that was asked:

What are you thankful for?

 

During this discussion some mentioned that they were thankful for being able to provide for themselves and their families.  A few stated that every day they were thankful to roll out of bed and swing open their curtains to see another beautiful day (in so many words).  Is there a right or wrong answer to this question?  I think it’s safe to say what people are thankful for will differ from person to person.  Agree?
 
This conversation led into our primary topic of discussion:

Well it’s Not Always about Money!

 
Is money the driving force behind everything?  Why do we do what we do?  Do you enjoy watching a great movie or witnessing your favorite team’s game-winning score?  What about acing your midterms or videoing your child’s first wobbly steps?  I mean, it’s not always about the money.  Is it?

Maybe it is just about the money?

 
Some said the only reason they’re struggling through school is to get a good job.  More than a few argued that the only reason they go to work is because of the money.   More than half of those who attended were considering ways to start a home business.  Of course, the question was asked, “If you’re looking for a way to work at home, what’s your motivation?” This is a valid question.  Is it not about the money?
 

Regardless of what you do for a living, if you’re focused and committed the money will come; it’s a direct result of the work.  You’d be amazed at what some people are doing for money.  But should your “work” or the infamous “it” be ONLY about the money?  I think the answer to the question, “What are you thankful for” will help you with your answer.
